Find where RFQs and quotes leak in your fab shop
RFQs come in by email, phone, and PDF. Estimates live in spreadsheets. Quotes go out and nobody follows up. For $249 I'll map how work moves through your shop, from the first RFQ to the job on the floor, and show you where it leaks and what to fix first.
I come out of steel and fab work, and I build steel estimate packets from drawings. I know how an RFQ actually moves through a shop, and where it stalls.
Where work leaks in a fab shop
They come in by email, phone, and PDF attachments. Some get logged. Others sit in one inbox until they go stale.
Each estimator keeps their own version. When a customer calls back, nobody can find the last quote.
The quote goes out and that's it. No reminder, no follow-up call, and the job goes to whoever called back first.
You win the job, then the details get retyped or walked out to the shop. Things get missed between the office and the floor.
Approved drawings, revisions, the current rev. Somebody ends up on the phone just to get the right set.
What the Map is
It's a written map of how work moves through your shop today. RFQ in, takeoff and estimate, quote out, follow-up, then the handoff to the floor once you win it. I mark every spot where work stalls, gets retyped, or drops. Then I rank the fixes, biggest leak first.
Pricing, scope calls, and anything your customer sees stay with you. I don't touch your numbers.
Your ERP or shop software stays. The Map looks at what it already does before I suggest anything new.
What you get
- A 30 to 45 minute intake call, or a written questionnaire if you'd rather.
- A written map of how an RFQ moves through your shop, from the first email to the job on the floor.
- Every spot where work stalls or drops, marked on the map.
- Ranked fixes. Which steps to automate, which stay human, and why.
- Tool options with each vendor's published price. You check before buying.
- A fixed price to build the top fix.
- One revision round. The Map is yours to keep.
Three business days once your inputs are in.
Price
The Workflow Map is $249, fixed. I confirm it's a fit by email first, then send a Stripe payment link. Nothing is charged before that. You keep the Map whether or not you hire me to build anything.
From Map to Build
If the top fix is one workflow, say every RFQ logged in one place with a reminder to the estimator, that's a One Workflow Build at $499+. It covers 1 trigger, up to 5 steps, and up to 2 apps.
If the fixes tie together, like RFQ intake feeding quote follow-up feeding the job handoff, that's Connected Workflows, from $1,200. It covers up to 3 workflows and 4 apps. You get a fixed price in writing before you pay for either. See pricing.
Your drawings and files
Send a few examples. Redacted or sample files are fine. Your files are used for your job only and deleted 30 days after handoff. I'll sign a reasonable mutual NDA if you want one, and I never ask for passwords. Read the file retention policy.
Start with one RFQ
Send me one RFQ the way it came in, redacted is fine, plus a line on who touches it after that. I'll tell you if the Map fits.
